Bio
I was born into a family business, which operates in “Capitalism 1.0”-type industries, dealing in physical realities like buildings and natural resources. My grandfather led the business until he passed away at the age of 98. He became and remains my north star. He paired genuine curiosity with a relentless drive to advance through adoption of new technologies and methodologies. He also insisted that the company’s success be shared by all of its employees — a philosophy that was ahead of its time.
From an early age, I too was fascinated by business and technology. In middle school, I found a book on stock trading in the school library that introduced me to Warren Buffett. That same night, I taped one of his quotes to the ceiling above my bed, and for years his words were the first and last thing I saw each day. Around that time, I also convinced my mom to open my first brokerage account (my first stock pick was Apple) and started following company earnings the way my friends followed football teams.
I later went to university in the U.S., where I shored up those interests through dual degrees in Computer Science and Economics. After graduating, I continued helping build my family’s businesses with a focus on continuing the work my grandfather started: modernizing our operations through tech, which is ultimately what led me to discover the companies in which I would make my first angel investments.
Venture capital is the best job in the world because it gives you a front-row seat to the most important technologies and ideas being built by some of the most interesting people you’ll ever meet. I hope to return even a fraction of the energy and insight I gain from founders in the form of guidance that is anchored in over a decade of operational experience and supercharged by an obsession with history. When I’m not working, you can find me traveling mostly in Asia and Europe, going deep on random topics, and enjoying the outdoors
