    Comprimato, the market leader in JPEG2000 GPU-based compression solutions, has raised € 200,000 in a seed round from Prague-based venture capital firm Credo Ventures and Y Soft Venture Capital, a daughter company focused on seed funding established by Y Soft, global provider of scalable print system management solutions. The capital will enable the company to drive international sales expansion and strengthen its product offering.

    Apiary, the API design platform company, today announced it has secured $1.63 million in seed funding led by Flybridge Capital Partners and Baseline Ventures.

    The funding will be used to further Apiary’s leadership in API design and expand the company’s engineering division to keep up with rising customer demand. As one of the first companies in the world focused on API design, Apiary is committed to investing in innovation around its core platform and growing Apiary’s API tooling strategy that includes API Blueprint, the popular open-source format for describing APIs.

    Credo Ventures announces today that Cisco Systems (NASDAQ:CSCO), the global leader in networking solutions for the Internet, intends to acquire Cognitive Security, Prague-based provider of network behavioral analysis software, for an undisclosed amount in cash and retention-based incentives. Credo Ventures has played a central role since it led the investment round in April 2011, joined by other investors including RSJ Private Equity and Evolution Equity.

    Brainient (www.brainient.com), a UK-based video advertising technology company today announced that it has closed $1.8 million in funding from a collective of strategic investors. The round was led by Prague-based Credo Ventures. Other backers include Atlas Venture (investors in DataXu, AdSafe Media, OwnerIQ), Emma Wilson (Managing Director of Harvest Digital), Jason Goodman (CEO of Albion London) and Estag Capital (investors in RevenueMax, Germany’s leading advertising exchange).

    Credo Ventures, a Prague-based venture capital firm, announced today the second closing of Credo Stage 1, its first fund which focuses on early stage companies in the internet, IT and healthcare sectors in Central Europe, primarily the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
